Cadence Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 22, 2026

Overview

Cadence is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not operate any servers and we do not collect any personal data ourselves. Optional iCloud sync uses Apple's CloudKit service to keep your data in sync across your personal Apple devices; that data is governed by Apple's privacy policy and is not accessible to us.

What We Collect

Nothing. Cadence itself does not operate any servers or receive any of your information. We do not collect personal information, usage data, or analytics. We do not ask for an email address, password, or any account credentials. When you open Cadence for the first time, you can start using it immediately — there's nothing for us to forget, leak, or be subpoenaed for.

How Your Data Is Stored

All information you enter — household member names, activity schedules, reminders, costs, and documents — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

Optional iCloud syncing uses Apple's CloudKit service to keep your data in sync across your personal devices. Cadence does not operate any servers and has no access to your iCloud data. iCloud data is governed by Apple's privacy policy and your iCloud account settings.

Cadence also offers a Download My Data feature that lets you export all household data as a JSON file. This file is saved wherever you choose — such as the Files app, email, or a cloud drive. Cadence does not transmit this file anywhere. You can use this backup to restore your data on a new device or after reinstalling the app.

Subscription

Cadence offers an optional paid subscription managed entirely through Apple's App Store and StoreKit framework. Cadence does not process payments directly and has no access to your payment information. Subscription transactions are governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.

Third-Party Services

Cadence does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. No data is shared with any outside parties. Ever.

Device Permissions

Cadence may request the following device permissions to enable optional features. Each permission is requested only when you use the related feature, and all data stays on your device.

  • Calendar Access — Required for calendar sync. Cadence creates a dedicated "Cadence" calendar on your device to display your activity schedule. No calendar data is sent to external servers.
  • Notifications — Required for activity reminders, schedule overlap alerts, and weekly summary notifications. All notifications are generated locally on your device.
  • Photo Library — Required for adding profile photos to household members. Photos are stored locally and in your personal iCloud account if sync is enabled.

You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device's Settings app.

Children's Privacy

Cadence is designed for parents and adults managing household schedules. Cadence does not collect data from anyone, including children. Information about children that parents enter — such as names, activity schedules, and photos — is stored locally on the parent's device and, if iCloud sync is enabled, in the parent's personal iCloud account, which is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Data Deletion

All app data is stored on your device. Deleting the app removes all local data immediately — no deletion request to submit, no confirmation email, no waiting period.

If you have iCloud sync enabled, your data may also be stored in your personal iCloud account. Deleting the app does not automatically remove iCloud data. To fully remove synced data, go to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage on your device and delete Cadence data from iCloud.

You can also use the Download My Data feature to export a copy of your data before deleting the app.

Changes to This Policy

If Cadence ever changes how it handles data, this policy will be updated and users will be notified through an app update.
